Psycho-educational Evaluations
Evaluations address underlying neuropsychological functioning, academic processing, and emotional health, which are all critical components of a student's academic experience and intrapersonal success. There are many reasons why such an evaluation may be important. Please feel free to contact us to discuss whether an evaluation is appropriate for your needs.

1
Initial Inquiry
Parents contact us to discuss their concerns, questions, and what they are looking to learn from the evaluation, consultation, or educational therapy sessions. This background helps us understand the circumstances that have led to an evaluation, so that we can guide you in the most efficient and effective manner forward.
3
Follow-Up Session

About two weeks after all evaluation data are collected, the invoice and report are sent home. A follow-up session is also mutually scheduled where we go over testing results, recommendations and suggested next steps, and answer any and all questions. This meeting is usually just for parents, but many teenagers and young adults are mature enough and eager to learn about their own strengths, neurodiversity, and what to do about all of it. Having children understand their own areas of strength and where support is needed can be incredibly helpful and empowering.
2
Testing Session

Typically, two testing dates are needed to complete all in-person psycho-educational assessments. We work together to schedule two 3-hour sessions for testing, though several shorter sessions are certainly possible, especially for younger children. While we work with your child, parents/guardians wait for their children in the waiting room, or drop them off if they're comfortable and the children are old enough.
4
Always Reach out

Reach out at any time if you have questions, run into bumps in the road, or need any support. While Educational Therapists continue to monitor their clients' progress due to the nature of on-going sessions, we all love to stay connected to our families and see their progress.
